Fascinating insight in to a world where Railway and sea communication dominated, but telegraphy was beginning to make its mark and being rolled out in the British Empire. Countries, routes and contemporary undersea cables are covered together with telephony and Marconi's sucessful links across the channel to France and to Newfoundland. Will wireless allow less developed countries to leapfrog the Empire with its cable network? Authored by H.R.Sweeting M.A. ex-Merchant Taylors' school Geography Master. 	Wireless Servicing Manual published 1946 Covers radio and TV servicing and includes 14 pages of valve base numbering details and pin to electrode connections plus a lot of theory and tips. A must for valve wireless refurbishments. Authored by W.T.Cocking, M.I.E.E. of "Wireless World" technical staff. Nice looking hardback with photos and diagrams. Fairly good condition mainly as gold lettering is worn from front cover but is still on spine, 360 pages. Published Iliffe & Sons £16
